“We talk about this being the age of information, but this is not the age of information. This is the age of misinformation. And the thing that we have to remember is that misinformation tends to be simpler and more stable than information, kind of like an intellectual Parkinson’s law where bad money drives out good. Misinformation tends to drive out information because of the relative simplicity and the stability of misinformation.”

  2. You should change your info on your blog to the following:

    About Me:

Hi. I’m matttbastard. I try to be funny, but I use tired cliches and old jokes in an attempt to belittle those who don’t think like me. I am a raging hypocrite. I think diversity is great as long as you think like me. I think information is great as long as it agrees with me. I think making racial slurs (particularly about “rednecks”) is funny as long as they are not about blacks or any other “minorities”…wait, that means I like making jokes about only white people and the religous establishment, but hey, don’t call me a racist or an anti-religious bigot. I can’t be a bigot. I’m a liberal, uh, progressive, uh Marxist, uh idiot! Um, sorry, I got lost in my own rediculous closed mind. Ok, back to about ME. Praise ME! Oh, crap, I got lost in my closed mind again. Alright, I need to get back on track. I think it’s fun to talk about American history because as a Canadian, I know so much about it…crap, that doesn’t make sense. Ok, so like my friend Erik Loomis, I think it’s fun to make stuff up and talk about things I don’t know anything about, particularly about who I am. By the way, I have a Ph.D. in history…really I do…I earned it through my life experiences online. Erik showed me how to do that. I am a Marxist….shhhh…progressive. That’s it. All the stupid people who think like me think its funny to say we are progressives and not Marxists, and guess what, no one questions us! Isn’t that great?! And those who do, well we just call them racists and rednecks or old-fashioned. Everyone buys it ’cause we are cool. I can’t say anything intelligent so I just try to make fun of people. Based on my life experiences, I am the smartest person alive. I also like to hide behind a computer and make a lot of stupid comments, but I wouldn’t say any of this to someone’s face. This is my refuge, the computer. Isn’t a computer great?! Peace out. Holla at me.

That’s ‘ridiculous’, “Incognito”. At least you managed to correctly spell ‘Ph.D.’

( And thanks for the giggle. Nice to know I still gots it.)

  4. Hypocrisy. You has it. ;)

Don’t forget my bigotry and Ph.D. in history (and my Marxist attitude problem and predilection for woolly lovin’.)

(Note to the peanut gallery–matttbastard does not, nor has he ever claimed to, have a doctorate in anything— other than bad attitude and FUNK!)

  6. yo matttbastard,

Congrats on your bad attitude and FUNK!
How dare you not have a Ph.D. in history, bigotry and assorted Marxist jewels – and 3 t’s is a bit much!

Hey Incognito – you need some serious therapy, hope they can still treat troglodytes

I’ve got a couple of masters’ degrees but I try to put them to good service in a way that provides information for people or direction to it so that they can help themselves. I think paternalism is next to slave master.

Masters in English Lit and Library and Information Science

You have effectively got all of our attention. We are listening no matter what you say about whites or pinks or reds – OK? I subscribe to freedom of speech but not to freedom to verbally abuse. Great posts.

  8. Monica – hmmmmm – so you think you can ferret out who is a troll and who is a conservaNethanderthal? In my experience (68 open minded years I hope and having lived in Canada and the US), I find that even dyed in the woll conservatives and libs are more pragmatic than to be accurately tagged. Don’t be put off by where someone blogs or hangs his/her hat or even what they say publicly. Much in the public sphere is said for effect and with the knowledge that perhaps more than 50 people are reading/watching. Try this view on for size. You may like wearing it for a couple of minutes. I enjoyed yours.

  9. Trust me, SamHenry — the delightful ‘anonymous’ character above is definitely a ‘conservaNeanderthal’ (or paleo-con, as they are more commonly known). And what he was doing is most certainly trolling. There be some prior history between myself and his sore bottom at another online venue.

Regardless, Monica knows the score and doesn’t need the lecture. Trust.

Librarians are always making sure people don’t have gaps in info – that is why they “lecture.” I have bowed to recent trends and have adopted an “eye” gravitar. This will last about 10 minutes like all fads. Have you ever seen so many peering, prying and sighing eyes than are on WordPress? I visit The Morb ’cause there be original art there.

Thanks for taking the time to talk with the ole dawg. I used to live in Canada when I was a pup and I miss it. Morb keeps me current. I consider Canada “our conscience to the north.” After Mexico, I can’t think of another country at our door we know less. This is the result of our bad and biased educational system. Thank god I have lived out of the country on more than one occasion. I may retire to … OMG can you think of a place anymore that is not in turmoil, with all they can do to handle current residents without taking on one more person. Okay, I’ll just have to find a bunker somewhere – AH at the residence of our Vice-President – the only shred of openess in Government. Well, I’ve enjoyed this site. I will be back to bother everyone because that’s the intelligent thing to do – stir the waters and see things differently.

  11. PS MB – a confession. I thought Monica was referring to VotingFemale and me. I blog at her site. It is a conservative hangout.

VF knows I am a liberal/conservative mixed breed. I vote candidates/issues not party. There is at least one other lib on the site. All on the site are pretty sharp of mind so it is great going up against them.

  12. Well, I fell for it and clicked your link to Jason Arvak’s blog. What a piece of crap. If he’s a “moderate” pro-choicer, I’m the frickin’ Queen of England.

Like so many delusional psuedo-conservatives, he cannot discern with any degree of intelligence the difference between murderous hate speech and plain old criticism.

If you criticize anything he believes in, you’re a hatemonger. You’re “the same” as the other side. I’m so sick and tired of that lame neo-con tactic. Same one Sessions used yesterday in accusing Sotomayor of having “prejudices.”

What to do? Keep blogging and annoy the hell out of ’em.

  13. A new book on 9/11 is out. The author knew the Mossad agent who organised the events of that day.

Dimitri Khalezov has spent 10 years researching and writing this book. Download links:

    Or read at:

In a 2010 interview, Khalezov explained that you can’t build a skyscraper in NYC without an approved demolition plan. On 9/11, the World Trade Center’s demolition plan was put into action to demolish the complex.

Khalezov learned of this demolition plan from his job in the Soviet Union. He had worked in the nuclear intelligence unit and under an agreement between the Soviet Union and the USA, each country was obliged to inform the other of peaceful uses of nuclear explosions. The WTC was built with 3 thermo-nuclear charges in its foundations.

Note: underground nuclear explosions do not produce mushroom clouds. This is only ever seen when the explosion takes place above ground. On 9/11, the explosions were deep underground.

Video # 14 – WTC 7 (which fell ½ hour AFTER the BBC announced its collapse).
Videos # 24/25 – chronic radiation sickness of WTC responders (their cancers are not due to asbestos poisoning)

Khalezov was interviewed on 4 Sept 2013:

Here is a more recent article mentioning Khalezov:
    http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2013/12/25/341790/mossad-bush-planned-executed-911/

I know it is preposterous to claim that the WTC was brought down by nukes. But if you look up the meaning of ‘Ground Zero’ in the old dictionaries you have at home, you’ll find that there would only be one definition. It is what you call a place that has been nuked.

After 9/11, the US government sent people round to every bookshop and public library on the planet to replace ALL the dictionaries. The replacements differed only in the meaning of ‘ground zero’. They show extra definitions for that term, to obfuscate the original single meaning.

For example, if you have a genuine old Merriam-Webster dictionary, you would see this:
ground zero n (1946) : the point directly above, below, or at which a nuclear explosion occurs.

The replacement books (even of old editions) show two extra definitions and this is what you’ll see:
ground zero n (1946) 1 : the point directly above, below, or at which a nuclear explosion occurs. 2: the center or origin of rapid, intense, or violent activity or change 3: the very beginning : SQUARE ONE

Have a look at this video:

At 6:05 mins, he shows the old and new definitions of ‘Ground Zero’.
