“He seems to have all the time in the world for conflict and very little time for the human condition.”
Former UN AIDS Envoy Stephen Lewis on Stephen Harper, who was accused by Lewis on
Saturday Friday of showing more enthusiasm for defence spending than funding the international fight against AIDS. A recent Ipsos Reid poll shows a majority of Canadians believe more should be done. Too bad our Prime Minister apparently doesn’t share this sense of obligation and urgency.
Flashback: Harper skips International AIDS Conference, laments ‘politicization‘ of event, as does Harper’s conference proxy, Health Minister Tony Clement. Clement complained that the conference “was…a place where you couldn’t have a rational discussion” thanks to “so-called experts and people that like to have an opinion on these things”. Irony, thy name is CPoC.

Never thought I’d see the day where I’d wholeheartedly agree with something Dick Cheney said re: Iraq.
Too bad he said it 13 years ago (and subsequently rejected his own insight).
